Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is a license issued in 55 states or territories of the United States that authorizes the holder to practice as a CPA in that jurisdiction. To earn the prestige associated with the CPA license, an individual is required to demonstrate knowledge and competence by meeting high educational standards, passing the CPA exam and completing a specific amount of general accounting experience. The two most important aspects of becoming a CPA are passing the Uniform CPA Exam and meeting licensing requirements in the state where you want to practice.

When the Big 4’s initially started in India, there was dearth in the availability of CPA’s and so they hired CA’s and trained them according to the requirements of US and/or European Clients. While the hiring of CA’s continue even today at Big 4s, especially for the services of Indian clients, they hire a lot more CPA’s for their US and European Services as CPA’s are considered job ready, given the knowledge they have acquired and the global recognition that the designation provides.

CPA license is awarded by all of the 55 state boards of accountancy (We will help you select the state board and with all the formalities). For international candidates, need to earn the CPA license within 3 years of clearing the CPA exams (else, CPA exam credits lapse!). The CPA Exams are administered out of eight prometric test centres in India
      – New Delhi
      – Bangalore
      – Calcutta
      – Mumbai
      – Ahmedabad
      – Hyderabad
      – Chennai
     – Trivandrum

     Citizens or long term residents of India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal,      Myanmar, Maldives, Sri Lanka and the U.S. can take the CPA exams in India.
